Ron.With possible future legislation against petrol driven cars, the Z3 could at least become an interesting museum piece, even if it doesn't make classic status beforehand.
Make the most of it,NOW,Ron.
Happy Zedding New Year.

Classiism is all very well, but a Z3 is for using - I'm doing another trip to more of the best passes in the French Alps during July - anyone interested?

It's not all roses - I have to pay £100 a month insurance - and that it the cheapest I found!  I could understand it if I were always seeing the aftermath of people's accidents, but I can't remember when I last saw one - apart from a few cars which had slid off the road on  a winter morning's ice.

Still - someone has to put up with good weather for nine months of the year!

At least there is no road tax, my DIY servicing saves lots of money, and after eight years depreciation - even at current used Z3 prices - is under £2k a year, which is rather better than that experienced by those who buy a new car every couple of years or so.

It's also less than the depreciation on the capital when it was being used 'sensibly' and was invested by NatWest - and that's not putting a price on the pleasure it has given me.

We were forced to join our local classic car club, so the Red Zed now rubs shoulders with 1931 Hotchkiss and Citroens, a  nineteen-sixties Vauxhall VX-4/90 (remember them?) and even a 'seventies Lancia Flulvia HF Lusso rally car.  All are in mint condition - even the Vauxhall.

The absence of road salt certainly provides an amazing variety of non-rusted cars, and will be ideal for preserving le Red Zed for beyond my lifetime - maybe I'll build a mausoleum, and be entombed with my car . . .
