hi al just wanted to no if any one can tell me if its easy to change the outer windscreen seal on a e39 520i any one done one is it somthing you could do at home

If the windscreen is original then it's not too hard. Just pull the old seal out and push the new one in, it does not look like it will fit, but it does.
If the windscreen has been replaced then you may have more difficulties, depending who replaced the screen. The screen is bonded in place and it's likely that the seal has also been bonded unless they left the new screen over night before putting in the seal.
