Has anybody got any possible explanation of what I am currently experiencing on locking my 1994 540i ,I press the remote once and 2 flashes of the indicators , a click , press the remote again , nothing , but on subsequently repeating all that , the car is then securely locked/unlocked as per normal . I am of the opinion perhaps its battery related , have noticed some slowness turning the engine over , checked my records of service etc and I last had a battery fitted by main dealer during inspection 1 , in 2003 , yes it is a long time , but dont want to be jumping the gun needlessly . The price by the way in 2003 was £74 , I have a quote from Cotswold BMW , Gloucester for £115 , ouch ! Is there a painless explanation ? Thanks Dave.
