Hi, I'm 37 yrs old no convictions or points and just renewed my insurance with Adrian flux on an equity redstar policy on my e36 m3 evo cab. Garenteed value policy but not a classic policy. Limited mileage of 1.5k per year. Only £100 excess per year an £100000 legal fees included an windscreen cover. This policy has cost me a mere £228.42 for the year. Wow.....

These questions are always very subjective. However it is doubtful that any exact comparisons can be made. My son used to work for Gallagher Heath, which anyone who is in the insurance business will know is a massive business concern. Insurance premiums whilst in some cases tailored to the individual ( to their credit I have found A plan exceptional at this) rely upon a moving funding scale. How this works in very simplistic terms is there is a pot of money received in premiums, the revenue pot and another which is the claims pot, the payment pot. Depending upon the number of claims premiums are being adjusted by a computer matrix which gives a quote at the time of enquiry. The on top of that factors such as age, post code, employment status and job title, where the car is kept, its value, its age, and so on and so forth, are factors in the premium. Worst time to renew after winter when bad weather gives rise to many claims. It is a lottery in many respects and there can be massive differences in quotes and some insurers will not touch certain models. I think that forums can point some people in a direction, but unless you are twins with the same job and same address and same car with no claims who passed their test on the same day, it is unlikely you will get a matching quote.
