The original skirts and bumpers on my E36 had been sprayed a long time ago, the paint had started coming of in chunks to reveal the grey stone chip protectant that BMW used to apply to the early models (mines '93).
Underneath the grey stuff is original body spray, so gettin the grey off saves a paint job!!!
Got a thread that said to use paint stripper on the overspray - which I did and worked brilliant - the use a degreaser soaked into the grey and elbow grease. This is where I am looking for advice. I got some Swarfega degreaser as I could not get the Castrol Cleaner recommended on the thread as withdrawn (a Yank thread). But it ain't shiftin

big job to strip them - try panel wipe on offending areas and repaint or if standard items may be cheaper to buy 2 in correct colour already
