Steve H, you are totally out of touch. The Alpina register is the official register for Alpina for the BMWCCGB. Furthermore in a meeting a few months ago it was confirmed that there would be no separate club or break away group from the BMWCCGB.

You will also notice the pathetic response to any Alpina related BMWCC event on this forum, for that reason persons wishing to join in with BMWCC Alpina inclusive events go on that forum.

Indeed it is that forum that attracted 64 Alpina owners to the BMWCCGB club area at Silverstone, how many did you bring?

Furthermore had you been able to attend the meeting in Nottingham, you would have heard Charles Lovibond announce that Alpina register and BMWCCGB were working together. Richard Baxter was at the event, so please let us have the facts and not fiction.

The only time I envisage any Alpina only ( an no one without one has ever been turned away) is if the club rejected that group, and that is unlikely to happen as it needs all the members it can get.

Norman I suggest that a thread for a new member is not the place to gave this discussion with Steve just because he may not be up to date on the latest Alpina issues this is the forum for the BMWCC so welcomes all BMW cars and anything they would need to know bar inclusive alpina events would be here and surely we should be then encouraging alpina over to use the club and this forum if they are all working together

It may well be the wrong place, but it is a place and I resent the implication that I or anyone with Alpina is trying to steer people away.

I was simply trying to help a new member who has an Alpina, which they are clearly enthused about, to get the best from that model within the club.

Therefore here is my very clear message to the member who posted. The club has a host of events and benefits. If you wish to join in with the Alpina group you would be made most welcome. If you wish to attend any other event anywhere in the UK organised by the club, register, region or national you would be made most welcome. I did not want you, as many others have, and whilst at the NEC one chap specifically, to miss any opportunity to enjoy the model you have, this was my sole and only motive. Therefore, for Alpina related events within the BMWCCGB use thealpinaregister.com for all other events check this forum or your club magazine. If you want to know any specifics for Alpina within the club you can contact Simon Alcorn his details are in the magazine.

We had the largest gathering of Alpina cars this year at Nottingham which was over 80 and hope to exceed that in 2016 at a location to be decided. A number of non Alpina owners attended the day, which included full hospitality at Sytner Alpina Nottingham, prize giving, a quiz, raffle, photo opportunity, the Vulcan Flypast and a trip to Belvoir Castle and finished off with a meal at a nice location in Loughborough. That's what the club is about for some of us.

Hi All,

Looks like my introduction has caused a debate.

Let me re introduce my self.

I own both the E36 Alpina and the E92 335i you see in the photo. I have been a member of the Alpina Register since 2007 and fairly well know with their members.
I recently got chatting with a friend who advised me about the BMWCarclub which led me to purchase a membership to show my support for both BMW and ALPINA.

No offence taken at all.

I hope to meet you all at future events.

Best,

Sab

Good stuff, most of the people I know in the club who have Alpina also have other BMW models, one or more. Apologies, but the message was clearly misunderstood by one other and you will also know from the alpinaregister that many events are in conjunction with the BMWCCGB.

Sab

Beautiful looking car. I wish I could get my old E36 back on the road. Looking forward to seeing you and the car at some meets. Don't get hung up on the BMW/Alpina register thing. I visit both clubs online on daily basis. I will say that if you are after information/advice or parts etc. for your Alpina, you may have more joy on the Alpina Register. That's where I go looking. Both sites have their purpose and serve them very well. Let just work together and appreciate our cars for what they are, Alpina or not. Big smile
