Please could anyone tell me if I will encounter problems if I fit E39 wheels, (I'm thinking style 48) with 225/45/R16 tyres on to my E28. Thanks a lot |

Apart from looking out pf place (i.e the crap standard 15/16 inch rims), they will fit but you will need some plastic hubcentric rings because the E38 and E39 wheel centre bores are slightly bigger.
The best wheel are the 15 inch BBS E34 rim. A set of nice ones will set you back about £50 and you'll need a set of 225/55 tyres. The other alternative is the E38 16 inch cross spoke, basically a 16" version of the E34 E32 BBS rim. You will need the plastic rings though. The ET on E38/E39 rims is fine. |

Hi Andrew, yes, this was my first thought but considered something different. The more I have thought about it since the more I have to agree. Thanks for the comments which have reinforced my first thought and one that I will now pursue. Regards Dick

Here's a nice set for £60 with tyres:
http://forum.bmw5.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=38787 The tyres are too tall a profile for the E28 but I can't see a set of decent make new tyres being much more than £200 - or maybe some really good part worns. |

Hi Andrew, they look nice but a bit of a treck for me as I am in the East Mids. I have my eye on a set on ebay but awaiting my questions to be answered at present. If they don't turn out to be okay I may consider the ones in S. London if still available. thanks for the heads up, regards Dick
