I am hoping that everyone will enjoy the occasion, fortunately a number of observations have been taken into account. It is clear that this event is open to any Club member and any type of vehicle. The parade lap is slightly different and the organisers will keep you informed about that I guess.

It is important that those attending do purchase their tickets in advance and get the discount and help ensure the best possible facilities are awarded to the Club, so if you have not purchased please do so. We know money is tight, but once you have paid you know you have something to look forward to and it helps spread the cost of the whole event.

Ian  I have just noticed there will be an "Indian Buffet" first why an Indian buffet are we
not at Silverstone the home of the BRITISH GRAND PRIX. So is there an alternative it would be good to be all together in the evening but sorry Indian is out me.

Interesting comment, but not always easy to please everyone on the food front. Someone did mention a place where one can get double egg, double bacon, beans, fried bread, chips, tomatoes, mushrooms, black pudding, sausage, kippers, cornflakes, marmalade and jam and pastries all in a Yorkshire pudding with gravy. but that might not suit everyone either?

Not my cup of tea, (not sure if that's included), but fairly British!

OK it's a joke, I guess those that do not like Indian food will just have to make alternative arrangements, or persuade the organizer and come up with an alternative the majority would like?

Hi RonZ
As the Hotel Organiser I can confirm that as stated in the various Articles I have written for Straight Six on the Silverstonre Event for 2013 the hotels are Different depending on which one you go to. The M-Power and Regional cars it is planned to use the Holiday Inn at Crick which has a full hotel restaurant so the Indian Buffet does not apply for that venue.

For the "Z" hotels both of which are Holiday Inn Express they are a restricted service hotel so they do not have full restaurant but they do hold takeaway menus for ocal establishmentds that will deliver into the Hotel and the hotels are happy with that! In fact they hold the Menus specifically for that. However they also offered to cater for us with something that they felt they could cope with for our numbers and as long as we gat a number together to make it work it is a option that we have. It is not planned that everyone has to have the Buffet but those who chose to will be given a pass for the buffet so that they hotel can administer it.

Also if locals wish to visit the hotel and partake in the buffet or other food so that they can socialise the hotel are Ok with that as well as long as they have numbers before the actual evening.

I think there is more on this in the latest Straight Six which will be with you at the beginning of the Month, either that or it was in one of the previous ones.

I hope that helps.

Duncan

I would have thought that the major concern at the moment is how many people have bought tickets and actually committed themselves to this event. The organisation of any event is stressful and I take my hat off to those who do it. If we put this in perspective with what there is to eat, the food (whilst always important) is a bit down the ladder.

Let's hope it is fully subscribed shortly and gastronomic needs of all be satisfied.

Duncan first thanks for what you are doing for the club as Chairman of the Western Region I know what its like to organize this things.  Most people dont know what is going on in the back ground of these events "a lot of hard work" for sure.
So Don't think I am complaining I was looking forward to a dinner in the evening with like minded people.
I know that Indian food is very popular in this country for some reason which I can understand. I am unable to eat ANY spicy food whatsoever even a spicy sausage strange as it may seem. I am sure there will be enough people who may want to join my wife and I with some ENGLISH food.

Norrie I am sure if read the above you will understand the food is very high on the ladder for me. I know I can take or leave it and go else ware. I just though it would be good to spend the evening together all part of the fun. I booked my room at Northampton in January and Sivlerstone  last week.

So to all involved in this event thank you and I sure it will be as good as last year and this English man wont starve

Ron, I booked my hotel which is not one of the recommended ones. However, I am not overly keen the hot and spicey, so put me on the English food list. Interesting in the Hilton Milton Keynes you can get both options and it only cost me 41 pounds per night for the room.

Duncan, keep going you will get there. I am trying to get a local neighbour to join, he has done the best thing bought an Alpina Z4? (is it?)

Ron/Norrie, the buffet option is exactly that at the moment, an option. So far I've not had masses of interest in it so we'll see how that builds. As we get closer we'll take a view on the buffet and ask the hotels to support us as required. The important thing is to get a room secured so that we can all socialise together. Thanks for expressing your views, it's always useful to find out what people want!

Hi everyone,

I am fully booked for all three days at Silverstone with my Atlanta Blue Z3 2.0.

I have had the hotel booked since November last year so couldn't do the Club option, Travelodge slipped up with the date change for the Classic this year and we got the rooms at a giveaway price.

Last years Zedfest was brilliant and hope to get to Gaydon this year aswell.

Thanks once again to everyone at the club for getting the best deals for us all and providing us with the opportunity to take part in events we would normally not get chance to.

do not forget though that you can always come to any of the hotels to socialise and if you are a Zedder then you can order takeaway to be delivered into the hotel or use the Harvesters that are less then 100 yds from the doors of the hotel as I am sure a number of the residents will.

I am afraid that the M-Power and Regions Hotel is not quite so Flexible being a full Holiday Inn.
