Hi

Apologies if not posted within the correct forum but not sure just where this should be placed.

I fitted a new one of these units about 6 months ago and by and large it works pretty well for a FM unit.  Experience the odd "drop out" in hilly areas so in an attempt to improve matters (and anticipating the day when analogue transmissions are switched off) I'm thinking of installing a DAB converter.

Reading around these gizmos it appears that the existing radio needs to have a Aux input connection facility (unless using the wireless facility on the DAB converter which I prefer not to as a cable connection supposedly gives better results)

Now- here are the questions-
1- on the rear of the CD43 unit is what is called a Diversity Antenna connection- is this another name for a Aux Input?

2- In my car (Feb 1991 525i) I don't see any cable at the rear of the radio space that should be fitted into this connection- should there be?.  If I understand correctly this diversity antenna works by continually seeking better signals.

All input welcome and appreciated.

John
