530D head gaskets

   whilst im on my hunt for a cheap(er) car to hack about in ,a 530d sport with mega miles has been waved under my nose for sensible money,but it has a blown head gasket,know after having down many head gaskets on my petrol e39`s,i have had more than my fair share of alloy blocks,

so my question is,does the 530 d(on a y plate) have a alloy block?and if so is it likly to pull its thread(and need a new engine)?
