Anyone notice the BMW E36 Cabriolet in Calypso Red in the Closing ceremony
of the London Olympics 2012? Go to the 3+ hour version at 19:38: the street cleaning scene! It looked good and instantly recognisable! Must have been chosen to fit the budget! |

Yes I did, wasnt sure of the colour though? BMW have sponsored the 2012 Olympics, so they no doubt had some influence here which is good because all E36 will soon have justified classic status!

It's my car and I was driving it - it was great fun. 80% of the drivers, like me, were volunteers and gave up about 100 hrs of our time to be in the ceremony. It's actually Terracotta not Calypso and it's what got me in, the cars needed to be a certain array of colours, although I am sure they weren't crying when the saw the make !
So we didn't break the budget ! |
