I hope someone can help.
My 2003 M3 has an ultra sensitive wheel speed sensor lasts for approx 2 weeks then comes on when 1 tyre looses approx 1/2 psi. But this is not my problem which is that just prior to the warning light coming on, a vibration appears like a buzzing sensation I think from the front end as I seem to feel it through the steering. It’s quite alarming. I have had the car checked for fault logs but nothing comes up. The vibration goes away after around 1/2 mile or if I stop. I then check the tyre pressures but no problem. Reset the tyre pressure sensor and the car drives faultlessly until the warning light comes on again then the vibration returns! Has anyone had a similar problem with any pointers to the cause of the problem? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance. Edited by Haguey - 25 Nov 2018 at 9:01am |

Have you checked the tyres - Age, Wear etc - seems weird so if car checks out - also check the wheels are balanced properly - but that would show whatever the pressures as would tyre issues - cant see you or the setup would change the driving for 1psi etc or even 5 psi

Thanks for the reply. All the tyres are very recent but I have noticed it’s the front left that deflates slightly so I’ll get it checked out.
But it’s strange that it only does it when the tyre pressure sensor comes on otherwise the car drives perfectly in between. |

Worth getting that wheel checked and ideally on balance with and without tyre on and check the valve
Decent tyre shop will also be able to inflate it and check for air leaks - those wheels don't often crack but give it a decent inspection |
