Hi all I had the same trouble with my M3 and ended up buyin a little transistor off ebay and with the simple instuctions managed to replace it and all works fine now. Think i was charged 2 quid for it.
Like the banter about WA3, dragon comes from Lowton

sorry for delay on gettin g back guys but my computer died. found e36 climate control on e bay, sent my unit off, they got back to me a couple of days later to tell me that they couldnt exchange it as somebody had already been in and botched it... they agreed to repair it and send it back to me. they also informed me that the fan speed was controlled by a final stage resistor, where it was located and they sent me the idiots proof guide on how to take old one out andinstall new one. they forgot to let me know you need a rubber spine!!(passenger footwell in amongst air ducting) every thing working now, as much hot/cold air where and when i need it.. happy days.. p.s. sorry about the dragon from lowton mate, mines from golborne, if i can dodge the security checks and landmines im out of here!!!!!!!
