Hi Marie,

It was great meeting you and the BMW club at the 2013 Kent Branches HOP. Again, on behalf of the Hop rally committee, I would like to thank you all in the BMW club very much for supporting our little classic car rally. We decided to e-mail you first as you were so kind to support us in 2013.

As you might have guessed, this e-mail is to let you know about the 2014 Hop.

This year we will be holding the HOP rally at Headcorn Aerodrome on the 31st August and we will be raising money for the "Peggy Wood" breast cancer care clinic in Maidstone. This is a very worthwhile local Kent charity that benefits the local community. It is fitting due to our aviation theme this year that it has been rumoured that the BMW badge denotes a spinning propellor! I understand that if we get enough requests there will be air craft and pilots available for special rate pleasure flights on the day for rally entrants!

I have taken the liberty of enclosing an entry form for you and your members, there are more details of the rally on the entry form and also to be found on the website:-

many thanks, and looking forward to seeing you all at the Hop!

regards

John Matthews (secretary, Kent branches HOP rally).

Morris Minor Clubs of Kent proudly present present their long awaited end of season rally the

22nd Annual Kent Branches Hop

The 2014 Kent Branches HOP will be held at Headcorn Aerodrome on Sunday 31st of August 2014.

Headcorn Aerodrome

The Kent Branches HOP is the annual rally organised by and for the Morris Minor Clubs branches of Kent : the North West Kent Borders, Kent, and East Kent branches. Other marques of classic car are of course very welcome! The entry fee includes entry for two adults      , exclusive rally plaque, entry to the self judging and 30 mile rally around the beautiful Kent countryside. All profits of the rally go to charity. Please book early to ensure plaque. We often get entries ranging from pre-war Austins to modern classics as well as plenty of Morris Minors of course! This is a charity rally and this year we are raising money for the The Peggy Wood breast cancer care clinic at Maidstone Hospital and also for Family Matters a charity for survivors of domestic abuse and violence.

22nd Kent Branches Hop

The Kent Branches HOP is the regional rally for the Morris Minor Clubs of Kent and this year we are delighted to announce is being held at Headcorn Aerodrome, near Ashford, Kent.
The Kent Branches HOP features an organised drive through the beautiful East Kent countryside.

Vehicles will first assemble at the Aerodrome from 9.00am, before enjoying a wonderful Kent countryside rally. Self judging with prizes, raffle for charity and a chance to inspect the 100+ classic cars (not just Minors) that are expected to attend.
About Headcorn Aerodrome

The aerodrome dates from 1911 and was used as a WWI training school and by squadrons of 403 and 421 in WWII.    Today it is a fully working aerodrome with pleasure flights, hot air ballooning, model plane flying, helicopter flights, parachuting, and engineering companies working on the site.

Attractions at the site, for all the family, include a museum, children’s play area, a large cafe offering hot and cold meals at very reasonable prices, public bar, and on the rally day a large bootfair to boot!
