National Concours 2009 Chatsworth House

As you see we have a new venue at Chatsworth House in the Peak District. Reputed to be one of the most perfect historic houses in Britain, it is home to the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire and has been in the Cavendish family since 1549 when Bess of Hardwick and her husband bought the property. The ill-fated Mary, Queen of Scots was imprisoned here on several occasions. Inside the house are priceless collections of paintings, furniture and collections of books, drawings etc. It sits in mixed formal and informal gardens totalling 105 acres and is surrounded by a wall nearly 3 kilometres long. 
Chatsworth is located between Chesterfield and Bakewell just south of the A619 on the B6012.
This year the entrance charge will be �10 per car; there will be a discounted price to the house and grounds on the production of BMW Car Club membership cards.
