RAF Marham Family day

   Hi all
Keep an eye out for this event next year - RAF Marham Family day which was held yesterday (Thursday 21st July) - the club did advertise it but sadly only a handful of us made it, I suppose being held on a weekday didn't help, plus there was a lot of security stuff to comply with, however, the MX5 owners club managed to get 30+ cars there !

It's not a public event, it's for families & friends of the RAF base personnel + some invited car clubs, we were there as were clubs for Morgan, Aston Martin, Lotus, MX5 and some local car clubs with a good mix of vehicles.

Lots of flying displays, Red Arrows, BBMF etc - USAF sent in three aircraft (KC135, Pave Hawk & Osprey) which we were able to actually get in and even sit in the pilot seats !

It was a brilliant day - for those who considered attending & didn't, then I'm afraid you missed an excellent event!

Look out for it again next year .... we'll be doing it again!!

	Date for 2017 RAF Marham family day is Thursday 20th July - as our earlier posting states, it's an event not to be missed, 2016's event was fantastic - we've already had an excellent response for attendance to this years event, so if you're interested in coming along, then please send a message via the forum or by e/mail on bmwccnorfolk@gmail.com so that an entry form can be sent to you.

	Ok peeps The deadline has now passed as paperwork will not got to the organisers in time so we cannot take anymore applications but keep your eyes peeled for pics from the event and may encourage more to come next year Big thank you to those that have already applied, this could be the biggest norfolk attendance for an event in a very long time and this is very encouraging Paul

	I had a call from someone at RAF Marham claiming I did not give contact numbers from the referees on my application. I did, however guess they were just checking I knew the numbers to verify who I was? They have not contacted the referees thus far. He told we that we will have a very limited time opportunity to enter the base due to heightened security his words "your group all need to be together when entering". He suggested that there were adequate meeting points nearby? However at this time he could give no details of what our entry time slot was, this is particular interest to me as I am coming from Sussex. He furthermore said that anyone not there on time, would be refused entry as they have too many people to process. You will all need to bring photo identity ie Passport or Driving Licence. The RAF Police sniffer dogs will check your car for devices and RAF Police may ask questions before entry is permitted, I understand we will then be escorted to our allocated parking area. If anyone has previous experience they can share I would appreciate it.

	any further news on this? Last time I spoke to Marham the contact said he was being sent on detachment and RAF Police would contact people, so far heard nothing, is this normal?
