Hi

Does anyone have any specific recommendations for replacement Tyre types for the E39 M5 (V8).
Would just like to know thoughts and experiences of anyone who has tried different types ?
Or just the OEM Michelin PilotSports ?

For the avoidance of doubt my question refers to a standard M5 on standard wheels with no suspension mods, etc.

My own experience is the PilotSports are fine for day to day use.  But when used occasionally on a track, they get warm (which is O.K.), and then the fronts start shedding rubber quickly (with DSC Off) - which is starting to look quite expensive.
Maybe it is because of the size bias front to rear ?
No doubt much of the blame could also be attributed to my crap driving technique !
Anyway would like to hear from people with experience of alternatives ?
